EuroISME has received three boxes sent by publisher Martinus Nijhoff, which contained copies of the winning thesis of Surgeon Commander Richard M. Heames, who won first prize with a thesis on “Pharmacological enhancements in the military: legal and ethical aspects”.
This is EuroISME’s latest publication in its book series, volume 12, and it has been translated into German and French, in order to simply its accessibility for non-English speakers. Surgeon Commander Heames received his prize at EuroISME’s conference in Budapest, in 2021, from the hands of the chairman of the jury, Rev. Col. (ret) Prof.dr. Philip J. McCormack.
In the meantime, the competition for the annual European prize for next year is now open. Students and tutors of the ethics of war and peace are encouraged to submit a Master’s thesis; the deadline for submissions is November 30th, 2023. For details about the prize regulations and details on how to submit, please visit the prize page (click here).
The next prize will be awarded next May, in Estonia, at EuroISME's forthcoming international conference,
