Our "Insitutional Member" Leadership Development and Civic Education Centre of the Federal Armed Forces (ZInFü) has a new commander. Major General André Bodemann is followed by Brigadier General Markus Kurczyk, who is moving to Koblenz from the MV Land Command in Schwerin. Major General Bodemann was promoted the new deputy inspector of the armed forces base. The handover of command was completed by the Chief of Staff of the Federal Armed Forces, General Eberhard Zorn, as part of a ceremonial roll call attended by around 150 guests from the military, politics and society. EuroISME Vice President Prof. Dr. Thomas R. Elssner was among the guests. He thanked GM Bodemann for the excellent support and wished the new commander every success in taking on the responsible task. EuroISME President, Air Commodore (ret.) John Thomas, in his letter of congratulations, wished the new commander every success in his appointment.

"Innere Führung provides the compass that offers the necessary orientation and behavioral awareness for one's own actions in times of increased importance for national and alliance defense and a war in Europe." said Bodemann in his farewell speech.

In his keynote speech on the German Leadership Doctrine, the CHOD underlined the position of the center as a mainstay in the personality development of soldiers and emphasized the direct contribution to the operational readiness of the Bundeswehr. General Zorn then turned to Bodemann's successor. "It gives me great pleasure to hand over command of the Center for Internal Leadership to you today," said the Inspector General, welcoming the new commander. “You have extraordinary operational experience, experienced first-hand all the hardships and deprivations of the soldier’s profession and led your soldiers prudently and with a lot of empathy. So you are well equipped to take over the Inner Leadership Center,” he continued.

Prof. Elssner assured the new commander of continued close cooperation and mutual support in deepening international cooperation in the field of military ethics and immediately extended an invitation to the next EuroISME workshop in March 2023 in Berlin on the subject of "Characteristics of a European rapprochement to the further development of military ethics".
