For more than a decade, EuroISME (The International Society for Military Ethics in Europe) has been engaged in search of a common European military culture and ethics.
Within its network, an international exchange on relevant questions of military ethics gathers every year scientific scientists and military practitioners in changing locations throughout Europe.
The conference themes have been i.a. : "ethics and alliances", "restraint in war", "urban warfare" etc... they are versatile and take up future-oriented challenges that the armed forces in Europe and worldwide are confronted with.
The same applies to the EuroISME publications. Last but not least, webinars enable direct and lively discussion with a high level of participation from the audience through questions in the live chat.
Thus, the project of a European army based on European values is a constant subject of reflection within EuroISME: What is special about the “EU community of values” ?
Is there a common European military ethics and how can such an idea be worked on?
